REMOVE THE PIT FROM A PEACH!

USE THE TWISTING TRICK TO REMOVE THE PIT

Peaches are classified as stone fruits, and removing that pit (the large kernel in the center) can sometimes be quite tricky. Here's the best way to do it: Place the washed and dried peach on a stable cutting board. Take a small, sharp knife and cut around the peach horizontally, all the way to the pit.

Now comes the "twisting" trick: gently twist the two halves in opposite directions. Now you either a) get lucky, and the pit falls out on its own, or b) you need to give it a little help to remove the pit. If neither works, c) carefully use the tip of the knife to pry it out a bit! Or d) make it easy on yourself and open a Der Kleine Bauer fruit yogurt.

PASSION FRUIT GROWS ON VINES

GOOD FOR MUSCLES AND NERVES

Botanically, the passion fruit belongs to the Passiflora plants, which are considered vines. There are around 400 species that can look quite different from each other: we usually find round, dark brown, or almost black passion fruits. In their countries of origin, there are also variously sized oval fruits with yellow or burgundy skins.

However, the inside is nearly the same in all fruits: a large seed cavity with up to 200 black seeds, each surrounded by a jelly-like yellow pulp. These tropical fruits are particularly rich in minerals. Almost no other fresh fruit offers as much magnesium as passion fruit. With a remarkable 39 milligrams per 100 grams, your muscles and nerves will be very happy.
