THE ROSE AMONG BERRIES

RASPBERRIES ARE MEMBERS OF THE ROSE FAMILY

Botanically speaking, raspberries are not actually true berries. They are classified as aggregate fruits. The raspberry fruit is made up of many small drupelets that cluster around a central core. Raspberries grow on bushes and belong to the rose family. In Germany, they are among the oldest cultivated fruits and were already grown in monastery gardens during the Middle Ages, where they were used as a remedy. We love these small, round, pink treats best in our yogurt. Do you too?

RASPBERRIES ARE VERY DELICATE

FIGURE-CONSCIOUS PEOPLE CAN ENJOY RASPBERRIES WITHOUT GUILT

In the past, there were only wild raspberries, which were much smaller than the raspberries we know today. The modern size of raspberries is thanks to modern cultivation methods. However, today's large raspberries and their comparatively tiny ancestors have one thing in common: they are extremely sensitive to pressure and must be harvested by hand to protect their delicate flesh.

Raspberries also impress with their valuable nutrients such as vitamins and trace elements. For those who love these sweet little berries, it’s important to note that you should not consume more than 200 grams per day. Excessive consumption can cause stomach aches or diarrhea in those with sensitive stomachs. By the way, with only 4.8 grams of sugar, raspberries are a particularly low-calorie, delicious snack that even the figure-conscious can enjoy without guilt.

THE RASPBERRY

SMALL BUT FULL OF VITAMINS

The raspberry is also known as the "queen of berries." This could be due to its wonderful, incomparable taste or its healthy properties. For instance, its high fiber content stimulates digestion. Raspberries are also rich in B-group vitamins and vitamin C. Additionally, they contain the minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium, manganese, and iron. Their antioxidants and pigments, the flavonoids, have health-promoting properties and are classified as secondary plant substances. Above all, raspberries are one of our most popular fruit yogurts. And this is not just because of the delicious raspberry, but also because of the equally delicious fresh milk.
