Semolina Casserole with Cherries and Almonds

300 ml | Milk |
1 cup | “Der Große Bauer Cherry“ |
200 ml | Cream |
3 | Eggs |
50 g | Butter |
300 g | Frozen cherries |
120 g | Sugar |
20 g | Sliced almonds |
130 g | Durum wheat semolina |
1 | Vanilla pod |

Making
1. preheat the oven to 180 °C (top and bottom heat).
2. bring the butter, milk, cream and vanilla pod seeds to the boil. Add the semolina and stir in. Simmer for 3-4 minutes. Stir in the "Der Große Bauer Cherry" yogurt and leave the semolina mixture to cool to lukewarm.
3. separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites with the salt and sugar until stiff. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar until frothy. Stir the semolina into the egg yolk mixture, then fold in the beaten egg whites loosely.
4. pour half of the semolina mixture into a round baking dish. Spread half of the cherries on top, then pour the rest of the semolina mixture on top and spread the rest of the cherries on top. Sprinkle the sliced almonds over the mixture. Bake the semolina casserole in the preheated oven for approx. 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
5. sprinkle with powdered sugar to serve.
