The previous Managing Directors Florian Bauer and Markus Bauer will move to the newly created Supervisory Board as Chairmen from April 1, 2021. The new committee will advise the Group management and set important strategic cornerstones.
The new CEO of the Bauer Group is Heiko Modell, who has already held a key position as part of the holding company management since 2018. He will be supported by Florian Kellner (CFO), who will be responsible for Finance and IT, and Michael Janker (COO), who will coordinate Production, Technology, SCM and Quality Management. Tim Schwertner (CCO) has been supporting the management of the Bauer Group since June 1, 2022. He will focus on the areas of sales and marketing.
They are now the 5th generation of the family to manage the company. The two led the company to its 125th anniversary in 2012, and in 2013 they united its sister companies under the roof of the Bauer Group.
On April 1, 2021, the brothers move to the newly created Supervisory Board as Chairmen.
Ulrich Bauer is the father of the two managing directors. But Ulrich Bauer is actually the father of "Der Große Bauer", the company's successful product that still defines the fruit yoghurt market today - and has done so since 1975. He was also the one who set the course for the successful partnership with Mövenpick, for whom yoghurt products have been produced and marketed since 1994. It was also under his leadership that the Bauerschweizer company was transformed into J. Bauer KG.
The next milestone follows, the start of machine yoghurt filling. It is also the beginning of fruit yoghurt production, today's core business.
With him, the 2nd generation takes over the 26-year-old family dairy "Bauerschweizer".
Josef Pankratius Bauer is called up in 1914. It is his wife Sofie who gets the family dairy through the turbulence of the First World War with the greatest personal commitment.
In 1919, Josef Pankratius Bauer returns home and continues to run the family dairy.
BAUER FAMILY BUSINESS
1887 – Franz Seraph Bauer
On August 18, 1887, Franz Seraph Bauer founds the company "Bauerschweizer Käsewerk" in Wasserburg am Inn. On the same day, he and Anna Maria Lux get married. After the wedding, Franz Seraph began working for the company as a "Schweizer". At the time, "Schweizer" was the name given to the people who looked after the so-called dairy cattle, caring for them and milking them.
Initially, Limburger and curd cheese were produced. In addition to the business in the old town of Wasserburg, a market is rented where eggs, butter, lard, curd cheese, pasta and bought-in cheeses are traded.
